Newsletter 25 January 2018

Dear Parishioners:

On Sunday at the 11:15 am Solemn Mass Bishop Guglielmone will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on our Confirmation Class. Please keep these young people in your prayers as they receive this great sacrament and the outpouring the Holy Spirit and His seven-fold gifts!

The Long Range Planning Committee is inviting all members of the Cathedral parish to give your input/comments as we continue to plan for the immediate and long term needs of the parish. I encourage everyone to contribute your thoughts and ideas regarding parish programs, facilities and the possibility of a parish preschool. The survey can be found on the following link:

We have two great events coming up for parish fellowship:

Next Saturday from 6-9 pm is the parish Oyster Roast from 6-9pm on the Cathedral lawn. The tickets may be purchased after all the Masses this weekend and in the parish office. Please do not delay in getting your tickets, they are going fast!
On Sunday 11 February between the two morning Mass is our Lenten Festival & Mardi Gras Breakfast. There will be some food, the traditional pancake run and other activities for children and the Charleston Catholic Band! Please be sure to pick up a “Lenten Tool Box” with prayers and devotionals for your family to use throughout the 40 Days of Lent in preparation for Holy Week & Easter. The Men’s Group will be making pancakes. Please sign up on the following link to bring a dish to share: https://goo.gl/qAuwSx

Lastly, due to the severity of this years flu, the congregational Chalice and Sign of Peace has been suspended at the Cathedral Masses until further notice.

God bless,
Msgr. Brovey
